Current Awareness

Staying Current

Staying current is a big part of faculty scholarship, and the library can help!  Alerts or electronic clipping services generate emails when new items that meet your search criteria are entered into the database where the alert is set up.  You can set the frequency of the emails so that you get the updated information when you need it.  Here is a sampling of the most popular current awareness services.

Legal Scholarship Blog

The Legal Scholarship Blog features law-related Calls for Papers, Conferences, and Workshops as well as general legal scholarship resources.

Scholarship Alerts

Bloomberg Law Alerts

Bloomberg Law offers an alerting service that enables you to keep apprised of recent legal developments.  The alerting service ranges from broad business/legal news to notifications of specific dockets filings or Edgar filings.  The alerts are delivered via email and can be set up hourly, daily or weekly.

You can set-up an email alert after conducting a search.  The "Create Search Alert" feature is at the bottom of the screen.

You can manage your alerts using the "Saved Searches & Alerts" link located in the black bar at the top of each page.

BNA EMAIL UPDATES

BNA EMAIL Updates are weekly summaries of BNA reports and news. The emails link to full text of the reports/news.

First time users must set-up an Account Profile [provide your name and NKU email address]. Select the BNA titles of interest, those you want email updates for and save your choices.

To Unsubscribe: You can log-in and deselect your choices using the same website.

Cut and paste your search into the search query box. Choose your settings such as how often you want to run the search and the delivery address or email address.  Google Alerts allow you to monitor a developing news story, keep current on a client, or check the status of a pending court case.

Law 360 Alerts
