Google Advanced Search Form

The Advanced Search Form helps a Google user improve searching and thereby narrow research results.  Currently there is no direct link to the Google Advanced Search Form from the Google homepage, so type in Google Advance Search to access the form.

The form helps the researcher:

  • Find pages with all the words, an exact phrase, or any of the words.
  • Narrow the search to specific types of sites, i.e., .edu for eduation only websites.
  • Locate a specific file type, i.e., .pdf for PDFs or .ppt for Powerpoint.
  • Find terms appearing in the title of the page, in the URL of the page, or in the text of the page.
